A POSTCARD ART SALE IN AID OF IONA VILLAGE HALL
After 90 years of fairly constant use our beloved Village Hall has sadly had its day, and we are asking for your help to raise funds to build a new one. You can find out more about the campaign here, but the short version is that the village hall is everything on Iona, we are a small community with a big sum to raise and we really need your help.
We are seeking submissions for an online auction of postcard sized* artworks which will take place in early November. The subject can be anything you wish, and the works will be displayed anonymously so that the buyer only discovers the artist's identity once they successfully complete their purchase. Each work will have an unpublished reserve (which you can dictate if you wish) and there will be a list of the participating artists published alongside the works, so there is an option to include any biographical information or web links when your work is submitted.
If you think you can help then please enter your details below so that we can send you a little book of postcard sized paper and a stamped return envelope. Alternatively, if you already have an artwork you'd be happy to send us then please just fill in the submissions form here.
The deadline for submissions is 30th September, and bids will be invited throughout October until the hammer falls in early November. Payments will be made directly to Iona Village Hall Community Trust's JustGiving page, and all proceeds go towards the Hall.
The Village Hall is the island’s heart, and we thank you warmly for giving your time and talents to help.
Mike & Isla
*There are a few artists who will be donating work outside of the postcard format, so if this is your preference that’s fine, there will be an additional auction of outsized work happening at the same time.
