You will need: 
Approx. 60g of DK Weight (2/5nm) Iona Wool
A set of 5 5mm Double pointed needles
A cable needle 


 

 

Abbreviations

k – Knit 

p – Purl 

yo – yarn forward under needle then back over needle (creates lace hole)

ssk – Slip, Slip Knit (same as k1, sl1, psso) (Left leaning decrease)

Kfb – Knit into front and back of st, (increases 1 stitch)

psso – pass slipped stitch over

k2tog – knit two together (decreases 1 stitch)

K3tog – knit three together (decreases 2sts)

 

Pattern

Cast on 78sts and distribute evenly between 4 of the needles. 

Round 1 *k1, p1; repeat from * to end of round, place marker and join in round. 

(2) *k1, p1, Repeat from * to end of round

(3)  Continue working in 1x1 rib (repeat row 2)

(4) Continue in rib to last 2 sts, kfb, k1 (79sts)

(5)  k2, *k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk, k2; repeat from * to end

(7) k1, *k2tog, yo, k3, yo, ssk; repeat from * to last st, k1

Rows 5 to 8 form the pattern. Repeat them five more times
