Approx. 160g of DK Weight (2/5nm) Iona Wool
A pair of 7mm needles

 

Abbreviations

 

St(s) – Stitch(s)

RS – Right Side

WS – Wrong Side

k – Knit 

p – Purl 

 

 

Pattern

Cast on 30 sts.

Row (1) (RS): (K1, P1) 15 times

Repeat row 1 seven more times (8 rows total)

(9, 11, 13 & 15) (RS) knit

(10 , 12 & 14) (WS) p2, *k5, p2 repeat from * to end

(16) (WS) p2, *k12, p2; repeat from * to end

(17) (RS) k2, *p12, k2; rep from * to end

(18) purl

(19, 21 & 23) knit

(20, 22 & 24) p2, *k5, p2; repeat from * to end

(25) p7, *k2, p12, k2, p7

(26) k7, *p2, k12, p2, k7

 

Rows 9 to 26 form rib check pattern. 

Repeat rows 9 to 26 three more times 

 

Next row  knit

Next row Knit

Repeat the last 2 rows until scarf measures 190cm

 

Repeat Rows 9 to 26 four times

Repeat row 1 eight times

Cast off. 

 

Weave in ends neatly to finish. Gently wash and block dry.

 

This scarf is long as it's designed to be wrapped around, there is also an intentional difference in the design at each end.
