Technical Information

Our yarns still contain spinning oil, making it suitable for both hand and machine knitting. The true handle of our wool will appear after the first wash of your finished item, when the water-soluble oil is rinsed out and the fibres allowed to relax, resulting in a softer and loftier feel. In projects where finished measurements are crucial, we strongly recommend washing and blocking your tension swatch before taking a stitch count.

Iona Wool is suitable for hand washing at 30°C, and should be dried flat. Do not tumble dry.
