The Tatami small silk scarf has been digitally printed with an intricate repeat pattern in red and off-white. The design was developed from an original drawing inspired by tatami - traditional Japanese flooring made from woven straw.
This versatile square scarf can be knotted at the neck or tied as a headband.
Printed and finished in Scotland.

Hand-wash
Originally from the neighbouring Isle of Mull, Ellen Martin is an Edinburgh-based designer specialising in printed and dyed textiles.
Influenced by traditional Japanese textile techniques learnt in Kyoto while researching for her graduate collection at The Glasgow School of Art, her focus is on hand-drawing, collage and repeat pattern.
From her home studio, Ellen produces prints using techniques including digital printing, screen-printing and katazome - a Japanese resist-dyeing method.
